Mike joined NES in 2010 from Magnox Electric / Energy Solutions, where he held the position of Commercial Director for over 5 years, successfully delivering a £600m per annum decommissioning and nuclear power plant generation programme for the NDA.
Responsible for the overall leadership of the company, Mike has a wealth of business expertise with over 30 years’ experience in commercial and business management in the nuclear, transport and oil, gas and petro-chemical industries.
Mike also worked for Carillion for over 10 years as Commercial Director in rail and infrastructure project delivery. Responsible for major bids and proposals, including awards for infrastructure maintenance and renewals with lifetime value over £1b. Mike has also been responsible for the transition and change programmes, successfully taking public sector organisations in the nuclear and rail industries into profitable performance in the private sector.

Tony has been Chairman of NES since he joined the company in June 2009.
Tony is a mechanical engineer, with over 30 years’ senior management experience in the utility and energy industries. His roles have included Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman of Amec Process & Energy, the international project management and services company turning over £750 m with contracts in the Oil and Gas industry.
Tony also spent 7 years as FTSE Main Board Managing Director within the utility industry responsible for major projects on a global scale.
Other positions held have included Executive Director of AWE plc and Managing Director of Anglian Water International. He was an Executive Director of the British Nuclear Group and Chairman of Aldermaston Weapons Establishment.

Brett acquired NES out of Rolls Royce Nuclear Division.
With 30 years’ experience as a self-employed entrepreneur, Brett’s career has developed through civil, structural and mechanical engineering, ultimately leading to the nuclear industry in 1996.
Brett was the founder of PowerJet Systems, leading industry developments in the use of Ultra High Pressure waterjet solutions, within both Commercial and Nuclear Decontamination and Decommissioning applications.
Brett successfully negotiated the acquisition of NNC Special Purpose Equipment through PowerJet Systems, followed by the acquisition of Rolls - Royce Nuclear Division in December 2003.

Joining NES in April 2010 from Sellafield, where he held the position of Head of Programme Delivery, George initially joined NES as Sellafield Divisional Managing Director and has since moved on to take overall control of all contracts from the Managing Director.
George has over 25 years’ experience within the nuclear industry, with a further 10 years’ experience working for British Steel in a range of manufacturing, senior management, and supervisory positions. A Chartered Manager and Chemical Engineer by profession, MBA, BSC, he led the delivery of a £300m decommissioning programme, addressing the UKs highest hazard nuclear facilities.
Through his career George has led major culture change programmes in the nuclear industry.

Chris joined NES in August 2009, immediately taking the post of Finance Director. Chris brings a wealth of commercial and client experience from his previous roles. These include Director of Client Finance in DTZ’s Property Management Team, as well as extensive expertise in the construction and automotive sectors through Finance Director roles with SGB, Unipart and Harsco.
A Chartered Accountant, Chris trained with KPMG, and has also worked in corporate finance on Mergers and Acquisitions with Ernst and Young. Chris has therefore amassed a broad knowledge of acquisitions, disposals and business integration.

Steve joined NES in 2005 as a senior project manager, having spent the previous seven years as a senior project engineer with the British Nuclear Group. Here he was responsible for the management and co-ordination of contracts related to pond and silo decommissioning, circa £30m in value.
Steve has over 25 years’ experience within the nuclear/engineering industries having worked at Sellafield, with responsibility for projects at Dungeness B, Wylfa, Heysham, Torness, Hunterston B nuclear power stations, and the Springfield site.
Previous experience includes 10 years in steel rolling mills, copper rolling mills, wire product machinery equipment design and plant maintenance.

This continues a 40 year career in industry which started as an engineering apprentice, gaining Chartered Engineering status along the way, and with the last 25 years spent with a variety of businesses, leading and facilitating “improvement programmes”.
