Community

NES see it as a key responsibility of the company to actively involve itself in projects and to support the local community where we are engaged in business.

Involving NES with key community stakeholders ensures that NES give back to communities that have served the business so well.

Engineering Education Scheme

Driven through NES’s engineering department, the company has been supporting the engineers of tomorrow through the Engineering Development Trust (EDT) Engineering Education Scheme (EES).

Sponsoring Year 12 math’s and science students from a number of colleges around the West Midlands, students and teachers work with NES on real engineering projects, presenting their engineering solutions at a national assessment day to a panel of industry professionals.

The 6 month scheme provides students with an in-depth experience in science, engineering and technology that will enable them to make an informed decision about their future studies and career.
Following the successful completion of the course, students are awarded EES National Certificate and a Duke of Edinburgh Skills Certificate.

In recent years students working with NES have produced ProEngineer models and working prototypes of a hose reel, which won the top award at the national assessment day held at the NEC in Birmingham.

Workington Town RLFC

Following approval for the construction of the NES North West division, NES were keen to give something back to the community in West Cumbria. The opportunity arose for NES to become the main club sponsor of Workington Town Rugby League Football club, signing a 3 year agreement in 2010.

NES are extremely proud to support such an integral part of the community, not only with the financial support of the club, but also supporting the long term development of “Town”.

NES are not only the club's main sponsor, with the company logo appearing on the clubs playing shirts, but also support community programs and the development of the club's scholarship setup.
